Toronto - St. James’Cathedral

This Anglican Cathedral built in the Gothic Revival style is the oldest congregation in the city and dates back to the late 18th century when the settlement of York was established. The spire makes it the second tallest church in Canada and at the time of completion in 1875 was the tallest building in Toronto.

Today, St. James’ Cathedral ‘is both a parish church ministering to the historic St. Lawrence neighbourhood and a cathedral (the church where the bishop's chair or throne - the 'cathedral' - is located), making it the spiritual centre of the diocese and a focal point for the civic life of Toronto’
