Toronto - Toronto Islands
This charming island chain just off the coast of Toronto in Lake Ontario is a popular tourist attraction visited by over a million tourists a year. The Toronto islands consist of 8 separate islets (although the South Island actually comprises several smaller islets) with recreational facilities, residential areas and even a small airport.
Attractions on the islands include a children’s amusement park, a farm, picnic areas, swimming beaches and marinas. There are no bridges or tunnels to the mainland but a ferry service operates regularly.
