Ottawa tourist information - 24 Sussex Drive

Built between 1866 and 1868 by mill owner and MP Joseph Merrill Currier as a gift for his third wife Hannah, 24 Sussex Drive, Ottawa has been the official residence of the Canadian Prime Minister since 1949.

The house sits in around 4 acres of woodland and is used as a residence only with no official government work carried out here. Unfortunately the house is not open to the public but offers a good photo opportunity from the street.
