Montreal - St. Joseph’s Oratory Located on the northern slopes of Mount Royal, St. Joseph’s Oratory is a Roman Catholic Basilica that boasts the second largest dome of its kind in the world (beaten only by St. peter’s Basilica in Rome). The church is also the largest in Canada and is visited by some 2 million worshippers and tourists every year. One of the walls inside the Basilica is adorned with thousands of crutches – left behind by people miraculously cured of their ailments by the hand of Brother Andre, creator of the Basilica. Pope John Paul II deemed the miracle healing as authentic and beatified Brother Andre in 1982. http://www.saint-joseph.org/en_1007_index.asp
