Montreal - Notre-Dame Basilica

Overlooking the Place d’Armes in the heart of Old Montreal, the Notre Dame Basilica is one of the most stunning examples of Gothic Revival architecture anywhere in the world. The interior of the Basilica is equally elaborate featuring finely sculptered polychrome wood decorated with gold leaf . The inside of  the Basilica is filled with colour and adorned with numerous sculptures and artwork from the 17^th to the 20^th century. Unusually, the stained glass windows don’t feature biblical or religious scenes – the history of the city of Montreal is depicted instead.
