Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic ticket sales

The organisers have gone to great lengths to explain in some depth the procedure regarding ticket sales. Below is a brief factual summary for planning your 2010 Olympic or Paralympic experience.

There are 4 phases in the sale of tickets.
Phase 1 began on Ocober 3rd 2008 and ends November 7th 2008. You have more chance of acquiring a ticket for the event that you want to see at this first phase.
Organisers have advised against rushing to buy on day 1. An application recieved on the 6th of November will stand the same chance of acceptance as an application on the 3rd of October.
There are over 100,000 tickets for sale at $25 and half of all tickets are priced at under $100.
The organisers have come up with OEP`s (Olympic Experience Packages). OEP`s are the best way to secure tickets for the events you wish to see as they are top of the allocation list. OEP`s can only be acquired in the first phase of sales so you have just over 3 weeks and counting.
There are 4 separate OEP`s. City OEP`s that cover events from Vancouver, Richmond and West Vancouver. There are 25 different combinations of City OEP`s. Whistler OEP`s cover the events held in Whistler only. There are 8 different combinations. Mixed OEP`s combine City and Whistler events. There are 17 combinations. Locals OEP`s are for residents in mind. These packages are for bothe City and Whistler events but designed to fit around a busy working schedule by offering these packages on weekends and evenings.

*The information above refers to Canadian residents regardless of citizenship. All other spectators outside of Canada have to acquire tickets through their National Olympic Committee or the Official Ticket Agent representing that country or territory. International ticket sales and packages are at the discretion of that individual country or territory but plans are for tickets around the World to be available at the same time. Organisers have warned that tickets obtained from a source other than that area's Official Ticket Agent may not be valid.
